Bob Hope Christmases with the troops
years of dedication, desire and talent. A tribute to the great Bob Hope for his enduring dedication to entertaining our military personnel, especially at Christmastime. Growing up watching the Bob Hope Christmas Specials, I have noticed a huge void of such televised tributes that he and others would perform, flying to wherever armed forces personnel were, to bring a bit of Home and Christmas cheer to those who needed it most. I know there are actors and entertainers that currently travel to …

God Bless these men and women. God Bless the servicemen/women of today. God Bless Bob Hope for the happy moments he gave to them all and to us. God Bless America, may she always be the “Home of the Free and Brave.”

Great Video, no matter what the reason, these Sons and Daughters gave their all for you and me. I salute these men and women who paved the way for the rest of us who are Americans. God bless AMERICA and have a happy 4th of July.

OPEC didn’t cause our economic crash ! OPEC didn’t send American sons and daughters to their death for oil and greed ! How dare you treat American servicemen with such distain and lay blame on the feet of people who had nothing to do with it. Our troops are Americas greatest resource and sending them to die for lies is an act of treason ! The enemy is not in the middle east, it’s in Washington.

Very entertaining…..but is it true that every year Hope picked up a big check from NBC for those TV specials?
July 4th, 2009 at 11:02 am
my point exactly…a lot of guys got their balls blown off so the Frogs can spit on us at every turn, the Brits can become Orwellian morons, and Communist China can become the next Superpower…whoever gave me a thumbs down is in complete denial about what’s going on in the world. U.S. held patents built German U-boats, y’know…wake up America!
July 4th, 2009 at 11:02 am
Yes we were really looking for it when we saved China, saved France, saved Italy… and the rest of Europe. Got nothing for it, left a lot of dead Americans there… paid the price for Europe and Asia’s continued freedom…. that’s what we were looking for.

GREAT

Are you being purposefully obtuse, sockhop. You seem to be suggesting that war in the region has no bearing on the cost of oil. You brought up OPEC, and the inference being that they were the only ones who profit from the high prices. Thanks for using CAPS to make your point. I can see there’s no further arguing with you. Instead I’ll watch the wonderful video again and think back to the day when Americans were not so easily led like sheep by a GOP organ like FOX.

I just re-read my 2 posts and for some reason I just can’t seem to find the 2 comments you attribute to me. I said neither of those things, especially about OPEC, since OPEC is a cartel, not a company. Big difference. What I AM saying is that before oil ever makes it to any oil company, American or otherwise, the base price is already predetermined by OPEC countries as soon as its pumped from the ground. Educate YOURself please. APOLOGIES to 1more4theroad for taking up this space. GREAT VIDEO!!!

So, sockhop, you’re saying… what? That only OPEC oil companies make a profit from oil prices? That things like war have no effect on the commodoties market where oil futures are traded and the prices are actually set?
Do us all a favor and stick to radio until you educate yourself enough on a given issue to debate it using facts and logic.
July 4th, 2009 at 11:02 am
So the OPEC Ministers, whose prime objective is to take advantage of America’s citizenry and their gluttony for oil, are taking orders from American oil companies on how to control prices? News to me, but then again so is most logic-absent fare.

If we find ourselves in trouble 5,000 miles from home, we must have really been looking for it…..S.Clemens
War is Racket..Smedley Butler..read and learn.he predicted world war 2 and war with Japan in 1933!.and if you think a 2 time CMOH holder is a pinko or a coward, think again..FDR was a Communist dictator and Obama’s a wannabee….thankfully because of FDR we have term limits..now it’s time to get them for all the other assholes in Congress so they can try to earn a living under their laws

I’m 51 and well remember the gasoline lines of the 70s. The funny thing is, when you destabilize a region by, oh, say, invading an oil-producing country in that region and prolonging a disruptive war there, it has a predictable effect on oil prices. And companies like Cheney’s Halliburton have been reaping profits from America’s wars since Vietnam. Nice try at a patronizing dismissal, but no cigar Daddy-O.
July 4th, 2009 at 11:02 am
Obviously someone who is too young to remember how and why OPEC was formed.
July 4th, 2009 at 11:02 am
“Where are today’s patriots”?!?
They’re in Iraq and Afghanistan and VA hospitals and cemeteries, put there by greedy draft-dodgers who wanted to drive up the price of oil and the stock value of their defense industries.
BTW, before anyone opens a mouth to me, I’m an honorably discharged veteran. The best way to support our fighting men and women is not to send them into wars we had no business starting.
July 4th, 2009 at 11:02 am
Thanks for the memories Bob! Who would have thought, when these clips were produced that we would lose the liberties that these wars gave us. With the state run media of today, these USO shows are not even aired to the public. Ironic that these were produced by NBC, who is now in the propaganda business.

I am a Navy veteran and I love my country. I don’t care for the politics, the politicians, and the manner in which our country’s values are being abandoned. Bob Hope embodies our greatest generation’s morals, values, and ethics. Selfless, sacrificing, and dedicated to service. It saddens me to see that those values are being replaced with entitlement, selfishness, and division. When we abandoned our constitution and a sense of fairness and equality, America died, along with Bob Hope.

You are the ignorant one! Do you honestly like what is happening to America?
July 4th, 2009 at 11:02 am
If Obama is so lousy, what do you consider the guy that he replaced?
July 4th, 2009 at 11:02 am
Bob Hope, there will never be another one like him. Part of America died when Bob Hope left us. We haven’t been the same since.
July 4th, 2009 at 11:02 am
Bob Hope was a GREAT American. God bless him. Our military is the greatest on the Earth, may God bless them as well!
July 4th, 2009 at 11:02 am
God Bless America and our Troops!

His kind will never be seen again.
